Reflect in the tranquil shores of Ugii Lake, where serene waters meet pristine landscapes. This is your gateway to Central Mongolia, where history, nature, and spirituality unite.
Upon arrival, drive straight to Mongol Nomadic tourist camp where we will attend the Mongol Nomadic Show which introduces the traditional way of life. You will have a chance to try riding a yak, camel, and horse. Overnight stay in a Mongolian traditional ger. (L/D)
This morning we will drive to Karakorum once the capital of the 13th-century Great Mongol Empire as you know the most iconic history of the world. You will feel the vibe of the ancient Mongols. Once we arrived at the destination, we will visit Erdene-Zuu Monastery, which was the first and the largest monastery built on the ruins of the ancient capital. Explore the monastery and visit several temples with excellent examples of Buddhist Thangka paintings and statues dating back to the 17th century. Visit the Karakorum Museum and discover the ancient Mongol Empire Monument. On the way there is a possibility to ride a camel near the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes. Overnight stay in a ger camp. Today we will visit Orkhon waterfall. About 25m downstream from the waterfall you can climb down to the bottom of the gorge. Approximately 20.000 years ago, the waterfall was formed due to earthquake and merged from volcanic eruptions. Overnight stay in a Ger camp. (B/L/D)
After breakfast drive to Tuvkhun Monastery which is one of Mongolia’s oldest Buddhist monasteries and located on a rocky mountain hill surrounded by forests elevated in 2600 meters above sea-level. Late afternoon, arrive at Tsenkher Hot Spring and enjoy the evening in a pool filled with hot spring. Overnight in Ger camp.
Drive west to Khorgo Volcano and Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake. 2210m elevated from the sea level Khorgo volcano became extinct about 8000 years ago. Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake is 16 km long from west to east and 6km wide from north to south a beautiful fresh water that offers boat riding and fishing activities. (B/L/D)
This morning we will drive east to Battsengel county where we will stay with a nomadic family to explore their lifestyle. We will have an opportunity to milk horses, yaks, sheep, and goats. The area is popular for its famous wrestlers and horse trainers who are willing to show us their skills. (B/L/D)
Drive to Ugii Lake. Enjoy the afternoon at the lake. Optional boat trip and fishing activities are available. (B/L/D)
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Optional city tour available. Chinggis Khan museum, Gandan Monastery, or Zaisan memorial. Shopping and cashmere store. Concert and farewell dinner in the evening. (B/L/D)
